I say “virtually” because we actually NEED a certain amount of stress in our daily lives to keep us functioning.
But for far too many of us… the stress is overwhelming!
We go to work and face the constant pressure of overbearing bosses and demanding deadlines…
Then it’s off to school to pick up the kids, fight rush-hour traffic and struggle to get them to soccer games on time…
When we finally get home, there’s no time for relaxation… the kid’s homework has to be done, the house has to be cleaned, dinner has to be prepared (and cleaned up) and it seems like there’s no time to relax anymore before trying to go to sleep.
The word trying is especially fitting because most people are so stressed by the time they lay their heads down on the pillow – they toss and turn restlessly all night, not getting any restful sleep…
… and then the next day, it all repeats again…
